Gameplay Group International has announced that Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
This fast-paced one-vs-one fighter has been hand-drawn in 2D, in looking “to preserve the style and expressive animation of the original series.”
Built with proprietary rollback netcode and full cross-play, the game has been designed for both newcomers and veterans, with the developer having sought to channel “the energy of classic fighting games while breaking new ground in movement, style, and combat expression.”
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- 12 Playable Characters at launch, with many more released via Season Model
- Selectable support characters influence your fighting style and grant special moves
- Unique “Flow System” w/Movement Centric Gameplay
- Single Player Campaign w/Original Narrative
- Combo Trials
- Gallery Mode
- Best in Class Net Code and Cross Play
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in Summer 2026.
