Avalanche Software’s Wii U Dev Kits “just collected dust”

Avalanche Studios have declared that their Wii U development kits are simply gathering dust, in what has become a further negative remark about Nintendo’s new home console.

Speaking to Norwegian website Pressfire, chief creative officer Christofer Sundberg explained that the developer had no plans for the Wii U due to its disappointing install base.

With the industry pulling out all the stops in preparation for next-generation hardware from Nintendo’s competitors, Sundberg reveals: “We actually had some development kits that just collected dust. It’s a little sad, because we wanted to do something [with the console]. I think it is a cool platform, but right now it’s just not for us.”

Despite wishing for their next project to reach as broad an audience as possible, it seems the Wii U still isn’t proving to be viable for third-party publishers.
