ATLUS have announced that they will release The Legend of Legacy in North America later this year.

What’s most exciting is those that have been involved in the game’s development, with ATLUS naming illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi (SaGa series), renowned composer Masashi Hamauzu (SaGa, Final Fantasy XIII), writer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger), game designer Kyoji Koizumi (SaGa series), and Masataka Matsuura (999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors).

The Nintendo 3DS exclusive traces the escapades of seven adventurers – Liber, Meurs, Owen, Bianca, Garnet, Eloise and Filmia – as they arrive on Avalon in looking to explore the mysterious island.

They were to attempt to discover the “God” on the island, recover lost memories and see themselves rewarded with untold riches by collecting treasure along the way. But, when they find a singing stone, the party begins to see phantasms of Avalon’s forgotten history.

Deploying turn-based combat, players can create their own formations that are tailored toward their chosen party of three characters – each being assigned a different combat role, whether that be attacking, defending or supporting. These formations can be changed on the fly, opening up numerous ways for players to strategise.

The Legend of Legacy will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America later this year.
