Astral Chain has entered the UK multi-platform software sales chart at No. 1, marking the first time that PlatinumGames has been able to secure the top spot in the country.
GamesIndustry.biz report that, based on physical sales, the Nintendo Switch exclusive is the developer’s “fourth most successful launch” – behind Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Bayonetta, and Bayonetta 2.
The synergetic action game becomes the sixth Nintendo Switch release to celebrate being in the No. 1 spot this year, and narrowly beat THQ Nordic’s Wreckfest into second place by 1,100 copies.
Bandai Namco Entertainment’s The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan was 250 copies behind that to enter in third place, while Remedy’s Control sold 300 copies fewer copies to secure fourth place.
Collection of Mana was the only other new release last week, with the physical edition entering the chart at No. 22.
