This comes after signing a publishing and distribution agreement with Jumpgate AB and Les Editions Albert René, with gameXcite the developer behind what is promised to be “a game designed with everyone in mind.”
Pitched as “a card game with RPG mechanics,” you must collect your favourite Gaulish heroes before preparing to attack the Romans. Earning new cards with unique characteristics on your adventure, you will be able to take part in challenges and events around the map. That will let you rediscover iconic locations and characters in the art styles of Asterix’s escapades over the years.
“We are working closely with Jumpgate AB on different projects and are delighted to be working on this one, which is aimed at millions of fans around the world and at every generation,” enthuses Nacon chief executive officer Alain Falc.
Jumpgate AB CEO Harald Riegler adds: “Asterix & Obelix: Heroes is the most accomplished project based on the Asterix franchise we have developed so far. With the many hours of combat and card collecting it offers, it is the perfect game for console and PC!”
Asterix and Obelix: Heroes will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in September 2023.
