Microids and OSome Studio have shared the debut trailer for Asterix and Obelix XXL Romastered which will soon see release on Nintendo Switch.
After Asterix and Obelix return to their village after spending the day hunting boars, they find their village in flams and that their friends are missing.
The two heroes and their dog Idefix set out to rescue the missing villagers, presenting the chance for you to fight thousands of Romans as you explore the world journeying between Gaul, Egypt, Greece and Rome.
The previous Atari-published GameCube action-adventure game has been treated to a remaster, offering “up to date graphics,” an option to change between the original game and the remastered visuals, new game modes, new gameplay, new camera and reworked animations.
The new modes include Parkour that will challenge your agility, Against the Hourglass which has been made for speedrunners and Extreme that heightens the game’s difficulty. There’s also a Retro mode that will let you change between the original and remastered graphics at the “push of a button.”
Asterix and Obelix XXL Romastered will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 22nd October 2020.
