Those looking to buy a physical copy of Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection on Nintendo Switch will be required to download an additional 35 GB to have access to the entirety of the collection’s content.
That’s because Assassin’s Creed II will be the only entry on the Nintendo Switch game card, meaning that Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations and the two short films Assassin’s Creed Lineage and Assassin’s Creed Embers will be inaccessible without downloading them first.
“Assassin’s Creed II game available on cartridge,” Ubisoft confirms. “Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Revelations, Embers, Lineage and audio package for additional languages are provided as digital content to download (max. of 35 GB). Internet connection required. Content activable after cartridge insertion. MicroSD card required to unlock full collection at once.”
With Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, you will be able to experience the complete saga of the legendary Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, with a three-in-one collection that has each single-player campaign and all solo downloadable content from Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
The ports have looked to take “full advantage of the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch,” adding enhanced features like “Handheld Mode, HD Rumble, Touchscreen Interface, and Optimised HUD.”
The compilation will also include two short films, Assassin’s Creed Lineage and Assassin’s Creed Embers, that will let you “dive even deeper into Ezio’s story.”
The publisher has outlined more about each game, as below:
- Assassin’s Creed II: In this opus, players will embody Ezio, a new Assassin carrying on the deadly lineage of his forebears through Renaissance Italy, including Florence and Venice. Thrive in an environment rich with power, revenge and conspiracy, as they hone their art, wielding weapons and instruments designed by the legendary Leonardo da Vinci himself. All solo DLC is available along the single-player campaign.
- Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood: Playing as Ezio is an enduring struggle against the powerful Templar Order, all fans will journey into Italy’s most renowned city, Rome, center of power, greed, and corruption. This will require not only strength, but leadership, as they will command an entire Brotherhood who will rally to their side. All solo DLC is available along the single-player campaign.
- Assassin’s Creed Revelations: In this game, Ezio must leave his life behind in search of answers. Player will walk in the footsteps of their legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. This perilous path takes them to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threaten to destabilize the region. All solo DLC is available along the single-player campaign.
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 17th February 2022.
