Ubisoft has confirmed a release date for its feudal Japan-based action-adventure Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Nintendo Switch 2.
With the promise that it has been “optimised for all play modes,” you can choose to play the game at home or on the go, with touch screen support making menu, map and hideout navigation “more intuitive than ever.”
Assassin’s Creed Shadows comes to Nintendo Switch 2 with all content updates that have been introduced since the game launched, with the Claws of Awaji expansion to arrive “early next year.” The game will also support cross-progression across all platforms through Ubisoft Connect.
“We are delighted to bring Assassin’s Creed Shadows to Nintendo players,” enthuses Assassin’s Creed Shadows game director Charles Benoit.
“Whether slipping through the shadows as Naoe or facing foes head-on as Yasuke, players will be able to roam the streets and rooftops of feudal Japan at home or anywhere their journey takes them on Nintendo Switch 2.”
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 2 December 2025.
You can choose to purchase the physical edition (£49.99 / $69.99) which will include a Nintendo Switch 2 game-key card, or download the game digitally from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2.
