Assassin’s Creed movie recruits Jeremy Irons & Brendan Gleeson

The Assassin’s Creed movie’s cast has been bolstered by Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson, who will star opposite leading roles played by Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

Directed by Justin Kurzel, Deadline reports that Irons will play Cotillard’s father in the live-action adaptation, whereas Gleeson will play Fassbender’s father.

The movie’s script has been penned by Bill Collage, Adam Cooper and Michael Lesslie, and traces a man that discovers that he is a descendant of a master assassin who was part of a secret society of professional killers.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures partnered with New Regency to produce the movie, which had been scheduled to release in 2015 before it was later delayed to open at cinemas on 21st December 2016.
