It has been a year since Pokémon GO launched and captivated the entire world, and, to celebrate the game’s first anniversary, a special Pikachu wearing Ash’s famous hat from the Pokémon animated series has become available.
This can be discovered in the wild until 1pm PDT on Monday 24th July, and, once enough Pikachu Candy has been collected, can see the electric mouse evolve into a Raichu wearing Ash’s hat.
Players can also buy the special limited-time Anniversary Box for 1,200 Pokécoins, that contains six Egg Incubators, six Max Revives, two Premium Raid Passes, and 20 Ultra Balls.
Niantic has thanked everyone for being part of Pokémon GO‘s incredible journey this past year, exploring on foot, building new friendships and discovering new places in your neighbourhoods. More than 125 billion Pokémon have been caught since the game’s launch, with many more adventures to come.
