The Pokémon Company and Scopely have announced that Armored Mewtwo will return to Pokémon GO for a limited time.
The news was shared during the closing ceremony at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, in which it was confirmed that Armored Mewtwo will appear in five-star raids in the Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, which takes place from Saturday 5 – Sunday 6 September.
If you’re hoping to catch a Shiny Armored Mewtwo, lower your expectations as it will not be available at this time.
“Mewtwo strikes back in Raid Battles…in that form! Armored Mewtwo, as seen in the movie Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution (released in 2019), is a version of Mewtwo whose power is suppressed and held back by armor,” Scopely explained in a blog post. “Even so, Armored Mewtwo possesses overwhelming strength that surpasses other Pokémon.”
