This month’s CoroCoro Comic has revealed that Armored Mewtwo has been created exclusively for Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution.
Serebii reports that the Japanese monthly manga magazine’s article explains that the armor was designed to suppress Mewtwo’s strength, as in Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back.
And while Armored Mewtwo will only appear in the movie, the design will also be used in merchandise and other promotional materials.
Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a reboot of Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back, which was first screened way back in July 1998. This new movie has been directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara, with Takeshi Shudo handling the screenplay.
Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution will release at cinemas across Japan on 12th July 2019.
