Spanish developer Anima Games Studio have revealed plans to release Ark of Sinners on Nintendo’s WiiWare service early next year.

Played with the Wii Remote held sideways, for which the control scheme sees 1 being used to attack and 2 to jump, the title is also coupled by a hefty combo system that provides plenty of diversity during combat. Players are sure to notice a few familiarities with other releases, particularly in comparison to Konami’s long-running Castlevania series.

Also, the developer has discussed the limitations of the 40MB size limit for WiiWare titles, meaning that a number of environments have had to be repeated and extended animations cut. However, they have praised the Wii as being a great launch pad for their first title and doesn’t mean that doors are closed to working on other platforms in future.

Ark of Sinners is to be the first part of a trilogy of titles for the WiiWare service, and is due to release in Q1 2011 priced at 1000 Wii Points.
