Archie Comics Nearly Produced A Metroid Comic

Archie Comics had once explored pitching a Metroid comic to Nintendo, although, ultimately, would go on to produce a Mega Man comic series.

That news came from freelance cartoonist Steven Butler, who shared the concept art that he had penned for the proposed project on Facebook.

“Some Metroid concept art done for Archie Comics about 6 or so years ago, when they were wanting to do another licensed video-game comic- they went with Mega-Man instead of Metroid, but they paid me for doing the drawings, and They were a blast to do!” Butler explained. “Would’ve been a fun book to work on!!”
