Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has praised the “devoted and active Zelda fanbase,” those currently assembled under Nintendo UK’s recently created The Legend of Zelda Facebook page.

The message came alongside a photo of Aonuma waving a British flag aboard Nintendo’s replica of the King of Red Lions – the boat on which Link sails throughout The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

“Hello to all members of The Legend of Zelda UK Facebook page,” he begins. “I’m Eiji Aonuma, producer of the Legend of Zelda series at Nintendo.

“It’s fantastic to see such a devoted and active Zelda fanbase in the UK so I wanted to personally thank you all for your support.”

He continues, “2013 is a busy year for Link as he stars in both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. The first brings a GameCube classic up to date with stunning HD visuals and new features, while the second takes Link back to a familiar world complete with several new gameplay twists.

“Please look forward to both these titles and be sure to discuss them with each other here on this page. Thanks for reading.”
