Mario Kart 8‘s free software update may be introducing a 200cc racing class and new Mii racing suits, but its arrival on April 23rd will be joined by something even more exciting.

Expected to release in May, Nintendo have brought forward their plans to launch the Wii U exclusive’s Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 – which will add three new characters, four new vehicles and eight new tracks.

We know the characters as being Isabelle, Villager and Dry Bowser, while this week’s Nintendo Direct revealed that the Animal Crossing course will change season every time that you race. We also learned that two vehicles will be the City Tripper and Streetle, while the eight new courses will be split into the Crossing Cup and Bell Cup. Nintendo have also “souped up” the Animal Crossing theme which has been recorded by a live band, which you can hear performed below.

Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 will launch on April 23rd and may be purchased separately for £7, or as an £11 bundle with The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1.
