Nintendo has revealed that the Summer Update Vol. 2 for Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be made available on Thursday 30th July.

This will add weekly Fireworks Shows that will light up the sky above your island at 7pm every Sunday in August. You can spend your Bells to redeem raffle tickets in the plaza for the chance to get festive items, and you can also use custom design patterns to add a personal touch the fireworks.

The update will also allow you to take a nap on a bed placed in your house, which will see you enter a strange realm and have a dreamy encounter with Luna. She offers visits to other islands as a dream, as well as the ability to share your island as a Dream Address which can be swapped with other players to visit each other’s islands.

Lastly, there is the Island Backup and Restoration Service. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can enable this option, which will upload your island and user save data to the internet “at certain times.” If you ever lose or damage your Nintendo Switch, you can then contact Nintendo Consumer Support to help restore your island and user save data on a new or repaired console.

There will be a separate system specific to Animal Crossing: New Horizons that will let you move users and save data to another console later this year.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
