The Toy Day seasonal event has now started in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a celebration that happens every year on December 24. After meeting the black-nosed reindeer Jingle, he will ask for your help to craft the Festive Wrapping Paper DIY recipe that he will give you.
In the run-up to Christmas Day, you will have been encouraged to shake trees decorated with fairy lights to collect Ornaments. It turns out that these are important as they are the materials that you will need to craft the three Festive Wrapping Paper that Jingle needs your help with.
For each Festive Wrapping Paper, you will need one Red Ornament, one Blue Ornament and one Gold Ornament. There’s no need to worry if you don’t have enough, go and find a tree that is decorated with lights and shake it for as long as you can. We had as many as eight Ornaments fall from a single Cedar tree, so it did not take long to gather enough of them.
Once we gave Jingle the three Festive Wrapping Paper that he needed, we were rewarded with a set of Toy Day stockings to which he teased: “I wonder what might happen if you hung those in your home tonight…” We’ll keep you posted on that one.
The Toy Day festivities do not end there, however. As you have been such a help to Jingle so far, he wants to “share more of the joy with you.” He will hand you a Magic Bag filled with gifts for each and every resident of your island. Your goal is to deliver Toy Day presents to everyone, after which Jingle promises you “another extra-special gift for helping out.”
This task is simple enough, in that you must visit each resident on your island while carrying the Magic Bag to deliver Toy Day gifts. Jingle warns you that the magic will wear off at 5 AM which is when he will leave your island, so you will only be able to accomplish your festive mission on Toy Day.
The best part is that you don’t need to worry about matching a Toy Day gift to a particular resident. You simply need to speak to every one of them and hand them a gift as part of your conversation. If you need to check how many presents you have left, you can select “Look Inside” on the inventory screen.
After making our deliveries and returning to Jingle with the Magic Bag before the event ended, the black-nosed reindeer congratulated us on delivering every present exactly where it should be.
Now feeling the Toy Day magic and joy radiating from every corner of the island, Jingle took the Magic Bag from us to then offer rewards in a Gift Pile DIY Recipe and our very own Toy Day Sleigh!
