Animal Crossing New Horizons Custom Designs And QR Codes: Using NookLink To Scan A QR Code

You are able to use QR Codes for Custom Designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to quickly access custom designs to personalise your clothing, decorations and more.

These QR Codes are accessed through NookLink, which is a service that you access through the Nintendo Switch Online app on your mobile device, which Nintendo hopes will help you to enjoy your peaceful island existence even more.

You can use the app to send chat messages from your smart device to the game, as well as to scan and use custom designs made in past Animal Crossing games in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

If you haven’t already downloaded the Nintendo Switch Online app you will need to do so on the App Store or Google Play. This requires an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription and you will need to log into the app using the same Nintendo Account that you use to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

After this, you will need to connect Animal Crossing: New Horizons to the app. To do so, on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons title screen, press the minus (-) button on your controller to access the settings.

From here, select the NookLInk Settings options and Tom Nook will do the rest. It’s worth mentioning that this will require you to have an internet connection on your Nintendo Switch.

Once connected, you can use NookLink to scan and download custom designs that you created in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer on Nintendo 3DS as QR Codes.

You simply need to scan the QR code using your phone’s camera to use these custom designs, which, once downloaded using your NookPhone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, can then be used on clothing, art and other things.

There is a limit to how many Custom Designs you can store in-game, with that being 100 standard Custom Designs and 100 Pro Designs.

Those that feel that their creative skills are limited can use a website such as ACPatterns to convert an existing image into pixel form, creating a QR Code that you can then scan to transfer it into the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
