Nintendo has been forced to apologise once again, after retailers have reported that they are already facing stock shortages of Animal Crossing amiibo cards in Japan.
The amiibo card range launched yesterday alongside Nintendo 3DS exclusive Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. Although, Nintendo has fallen short on supplying stores with enough stock to meet demand – a situation that has plagued their foray into the toys-to-life category over the past year.
Within the past week, Japanese online retailer AmiAmi shared with customers that Nintendo had made them aware that the amiibo card packs had suffered “production issues.”
They have therefore warned of a “major stock shortage,” although Nintendo has promised earlier today that new stock will arrive at retailers next week.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America on September 25th, and in Europe on October 2nd.
昨日発売しました『どうぶつの森amiiboカード 第1弾』が店頭で品薄になっており、ご迷惑をお掛けしております。来週も追加出荷を行う予定ですので、もう少々お待ちください。
