Animal Crossing amiibo Card shortages continue as Series 2 delayed

Nintendo has already apologised for the Animal Crossing amiibo card stock shortages in Japan, and has now taken further action.

The company has already made an additional shipment to retailers with another planned in late August, but warns that sales have once again exceeded their expectation – the result of which being that sales are outpacing their production run.

That has seen the realisation that stock shortages may continue “for some time in the future,” with Nintendo making the decision to delay releasing Series 2 until they have rectified the situation. Series 2 production has now been reverted back to Series 1, with Series 2 no longer planned for release in Japan on September 30th.

Naturally they have apologised to consumers in Japan for the inconvenience, and ask for their understanding as they work hard to improve the supply chain.
