We already know that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U sales over Japan’s launch weekend were off to a strong start, but how did amiibo fare?

While the uptake wasn’t as comparatively high as in North America, Media Create reports that in the two days that they were on sale more than 104,000 figures were sold at retail – which can be attributed to just below half of the 227,527 copies that the mascot brawler shifted.

It was the Link amiibo that proved the most popular, presumably due to the bonus Spinner weapon that it unlocked in Hyrule Warriors.
