Amber Isle Locks In Nintendo Switch Release Date

Team17 and Ambertail Games have confirmed a release date for their prehistoric shop management sim Amber Isle on Nintendo Switch.

Now whittled down to its last remaining residents, Amber Isle has known better days. With grumpy iguanodon Mayor Clawsworth cynically watching over a last-ditch effort to save the village from the brink of fossilisation, you are the new, and only, shopkeep that its residents can turn to.

You must stock your store with everything that Amber Isle’s prehistoric inhabitants – known as Paleofolk – might need. Each customer has their own needs and behaviours, meaning that you will need to haggle, pawn and counter-offer to secure the best price possible to make your shop a resounding success.

After creating your own Paleo-character, you will have the chance to explore the world of Amber Isle – maintaining your shop, befriending the locals and improving the village enough to convince other Paleofolk to return and proudly call it home.

The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

  • Open Shop: Customise, name, and run your shop your way – use the profits to unlock new shop décor, walls, floors, and more, making the space uniquely yours.
  • Rebuild the Island: Rebuild, decorate, and unlock new areas to explore on Amber Isle, and with enough improvement, Paleofolk will start to take up residence on the island permanently.
  • Meet the Neighbours: Ambler Isle is home to 48 different Paleofolk to befriend, including Ice Age mammals, Permian amphibians, marine life, invertebrates, and more.
  • Paleo-you: Express your penchant for the prehistoric and design your very own Paleofolk – change your clothes, crests, and colours, to create your perfect paleo-persona.

Amber Isle will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 13 February 2025.
