Amazon UK has published a placeholder listing for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch.

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma once spoke about Nintendo being open to a high definition remake. However, despite teasing concertgoers at The Legend of Zelda Concert 2018, the company went on to deny that the port to the portable home console was in the works.

Since then, the only tidbit that we have heard was Aonuma that a remake would be “close to impossible” without the game’s divisive motion controls.

“Currently I don’t have plans, but there is a title that we can incorporate new elements or new features that is perhaps a perfect fit for a remake, then maybe we’ll consider it,” Aonuma had explained to Game Informer.

With some hoping that a potential remake could see the motion controls removed entirely, he added that they are integral to the game’s design in response: “So you’re saying control it all with buttons?” That’s a little hard! I think it might be close to impossible!”

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was one of Link’s adventures that Nintendo had used to create HD mockups in the development environment that they had built for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The other two that they explored went on to eventually see release on Wii U, in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.
