Amazon has written to Amazon Prime members across Europe to inform them that, from next month, they will no longer provide a discount on physical video game pre-orders.

This has seen the company shift their focus to promote the benefits that surround Twitch Prime, a membership that was born from their surprise move to acquire the streaming service way back in August 2014.

“As a Prime member, you enjoy numerous benefits such as fast, unlimited delivery, access to thousands of popular movies and TV shows with Prime Video as well as bonus game content and games at no additional cost with Twitch Prime,” the email reads.

“We would now like to inform you that we will no longer offer the Prime discount of £2 on physical video game pre-orders from 7 August, 2018. You can still use this Prime discount without restriction until this date and you will continue to receive all these Twitch Prime benefits:

  • Discount codes for new video game releases
  • Bonus games that are yours to keep every month
  • Monthly subscription for your favourite Twitch streamer
  • In-game loot including outfits, vehicles and items, plus surprises and exclusives for popular games.
