Amazon has announced that they will end support for the Prime Video app on the Wii U in September, reasoning that their constant upgrades to the service mean that they “can no longer support certain device models.”

“Amazon will no longer be supporting the Prime Video app on your Nintendo Wii U console as of September 26th, 2019,” the company confirmed in writing to notify subscribers in an email.

“We are continually upgrading our service and this occasionally means we can no longer support certain device models.

“You can continue to watch Prime Video on other supported devices, including most smart TVs, games consoles, streaming media players, and mobile or tablet devices. Please see our complete list of compatible devices at amazon.com/help/supporteddevices.

In the United States, Amazon has looked to encourage subscribers to continue to stream their favorite content. That has seen them offer $25 credit on select Fire TV devices until 1st November 2019, hoping to retain subscriptions that may be at risk.
