When used in the game, the amiibo will unlock their own exclusive dungeons, places where each hero can earn items and help level up their armies by toppling bosses.
Also, when players select Mila’s Turnwheel from the menu on the overworld map, you can activate either amiibo to use in battle. Then, when in combat, players can choose to sacrifice part of Alm or Celica’s health to summon a computer-controlled Illusory Hero, that will act as a temporary ally for a single turn. As Alm and Celica become stronger, their stats can be saved to their respective amiibo to strengthen their Phantom Helper.
The Marth, Roy, Ike, Robin, Lucina and upcoming Corrin amiibo can also be used to summon an Illusory Hero of that character, while any other amiibo can be scanned to summon a monster to the battleground that will assist players – helpful when a battle isn’t going in your favour.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows Of Valentia will release exclusively on Nintendo 3DS in Europe and North America on May 19th.
