Mega Evolution makes a return in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, but select Pokémon require a Mega Stone to temporarily unleash the power hidden within them.
This mechanic was seen in Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y, and requires that two conditions are met before Mega Evolution can occur. Trainers must wear a special item called a Key Stone, while their Pokémon must hold a specific Mega Stone for their species. Mega Evolution can only be triggered once per battle, making it an important tactical decision as to choosing which Pokémon is powered up.

Wait, we can’t have all of the mega stones? Like Mawilite, Gardevoirite, Altarianite? They aren’t in the game?
They aren’t currently in the game, unfortunately!
do you think they will add the mega evolution stones back when pokebank gets updated or will they still be missing?
you cant get those pokemon in the game yet. why would they include those items?
Although you can’t get those Pokemon normally they can be obtained through the random encounters generated by QR code scanning.
That’s not true.
These are the only pokemon you can catch through island scan.

blastoise, charizard and venusaur are also unavailable, and they have mega stone’s in sun and moon.
Actually, if you beat the game like me, you can go to the battle tree, win 20 battles in the single battle mode and talk to trainer red. He will give you them
You can’t get Groudon or Kyogre yet, but their primals orbs are in the game. You can’t get Giratina yet but its forme changing item is available. The Reveal Mirror, Prison Bottle, DNA Splicers are all available, but the pokemon that use them can’t be obtained yet. All the Arceus plates are obtainable, but no Arceus yet.
With all these items available pre-bank, the fact that 27 mega stones aren’t available yet is just plain strange.
Actually Hoopa can be obtained
I have a charizard
you can get them all from gts trade
well to me they hidden maybe at super in battle tree idt is fair plyrs cant get rest of stones but items to transform special pokemon like prims bottle dna splicers gracidea is stupid not having important items rather than complete have all it ahs to be a way to unlock all
You forgot to mention Mega Pidgeot, just faced an NPC with one in the crappy Battle Royal.
How about Wally using a Mega Gallade?
I faced one with Mega Beedrill!
I just got diancie with diancite and hate it how I can’t use it in sun and moon.
All the mega stones are obtainable, it’s just not known where to do it get them yet.
Come on! Can’t you find them with stoutland or the league?
i really dont understand why the pokemon company are low balling Gardevoir, she is one of my favorite pokemon and it upsets me how they forget about her….
You get megastones at the battle tree, 64 battle points each and you win some by defeating Red during the battle tree
Or just wait until January and transfer them over using poke bank (:
except from what has been said, you cannot transfer pokemon with held items through the bank. The mon will go through, but the item will be back in the bag in XY or ORAS….
if they update it to allow item transferals that is
I hope they do, I miss mega gardevoir…
i just hope they add more post game stuff i got bored real fast
Ok so where are the gen 1 starters on this list? Their mega stones are already available.
I saw someone with mega gallade. But it’s not possible to get gallade or it’s mega stone in sun/moon. Maybe they hacked it.
There is pokébank.
Darn no mewtwoinite x or y
I wish they would add Sceptilerite
Lots of the unfindable ones are obtainable through codes
None of the codes work anymore! There’s no way to get half of all mega stones in Sun or Moon now! That’s not fair!
I’m so excited to find all the mega stones in Pokémon Sun and Moon!
