Merge Games and Jankenteam have confirmed a release date for Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.
The 1986 Master System classic makes a return, challenging you to defeat Janken the Great and restore the Kingdom of Radaxian back to its former glory.
You will be able to experience every level from the original game as well as brand new levels that have been created to expand the lore of Alex Kidd.
While there’s a brand new visual style that offers “new animations, graphical detail and gameplay improvements,” you can also jump into Retro Mode at the press of a button. This lets you switch between either the enhanced graphics or a recreation of the original art style.
There is also a Boss Rush Mode that will let you “experience non-stop boss action,” as well as alternative boss fights that promise new and improved mechanics and more intuitive combat.
The original game’s soundtrack has also been remastered, and a separate Classic Mode will let you experience the game “with boss fights, dialogue, levels and functions the same as the original Master System version.”
Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 24th June 2021.
