2AwesomeGames and Playstack have announced that their top-down roguelike shooter AK-xolotl will release on Nintendo Switch.
Starring AK-wielding Axolotls, you will be challenged to blast your way through the animal kingdom wielding “an arsenal of kick-ass guns, mighty power-ups and even raise an army of trigger-happy baby axolotls.”
Conquer randomly generated rooms that lead to a dastardly boss encounter in each biome, and there’s the chance to recover Axolotl eggs and raise powerful Axolittles by turning them into highly specialised little killing machines. You can take their firepower to the next level by cooking up permanent, stat-improving recipes – turning your enemies into ingredients, eating everything and becoming unstoppable.
“Our team is always on the lookout for new and exciting titles to add to our lineup and 2AwesomeGames’ AK-xolotl was exactly what we were looking for,” explains Playstack CEO and founder Harvey Elliott. “They already knocked it out of the park during their Kickstarted campaign, and we’ve been working closely with the team to take the game to the next level. We can’t wait to see the players’ reaction when they get their hands on the brand new demo.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

AK-xolotl will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2023.
