The Legend of Zelda Wii U may have been snubbed in today’s Nintendo Digital Event, but we’ll still have a chance to journey through Hyrule again this year.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes will see up to three players team up as their own Link, as they work co-operatively to take on the toils of inventive dungeons and devious bosses. Rewarded with loot along the way, you can create wearable outfits that will each have a different boost or ability.

Designed with a similar visual style and top-down view as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Tri Force Heroes will introduce a new Totem mechanic that allows the three Links to stack on top of each other to reach higher places and solve puzzles.

Those adventuring with others can use emoticons to communicate with one another, whereas those playing alone can rent two paper dolls to complete your team of three.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS worldwide later this year.
