Activision has merged Vicarious Visions into Blizzard Entertainment, the developer behind Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and multiple ports to Nintendo consoles and handhelds.

GamesIndustry.biz reports that the studio’s 200 employees will now be “fully dedicated to existing Blizzard games and initiatives,” meaning that it will no longer be the lead developer when creating new projects.

“After collaborating with Vicarious Visions for some time and developing a great relationship, Blizzard realized there was an opportunity for [Vicarious Visions] to provide long-term support,” an Activision Blizzard representative stated to the website.

While Vicarious Visions will remain in Albany, New York, studio head Jen Oneal has been promoted to Blizzard Entertainment executive vice president of development, reporting directly to Blizzard Entertainment’s president, J. Allen Brack.

Simon Ebejer will replace her previous role as Vicarious Visions studio head, who was chief operating officer at the studio before now.
