The first trailer for EA’s movie tie-in Need for Speed has surfaced, placing Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul behind the wheel to give us a glimpse at how it’s panned out.
He plays Tobey, a muscle car mechanic and street racer framed for a crime he didn’t commit, who, once out of prison, is determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. The trailer’s monologue sees Paul pledge that those who defy him will be disgraced, and that he will find strength and guidance to triumph.
Exotic sports cars, high speed chase scenes and fiery explosions, it is what is now expected of the series and seems set to encroach on a movie genre so far dominated by Fast & Furious.
