Rejected Games has announced that its survival game Mr. Prepper will release on Nintendo Switch next year.
You play as the eponymous Mr. Prepper, who is described as “a precautious man who is always ready for the worst.” When faced with the rest of an all-out nuclear war, he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands and start preparing for his fight for survival.
With a story that is “brimming with a specific brand of humour” with a dystopian atmosphere, the game blends elements of crafting and adventure while challenging your planning skills with its underground shelter construction system.
“A prepper’s life requires cleverness, foresight, mindfulness and a tactical approach,” explains Rejected Games CEO Maciej Latocha. “The gameplay we designed is varied and addictive. After all, the shelter must be properly managed – it needs to be expanded with new rooms, necessary items and installations. You also need to trade with your neighbours, and make sure that your secrets do not come to light.”
The developer has outlined the game’s key features as below:
- survival with elements of crafting and adventure;
- building an underground shelter;
- dystopian atmosphere and unique storyline;
- trade, exploration, rocket building;
- 20-30 hours of fun.
Mr. Prepper will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2022.
