Petroglyph Games has announced that 8-Bit Armies will see release on Nintendo Switch, what the developer describes as their most fast-paced, friendly, and accessible real-time strategy game to date.

With a colourful, blocky voxel art style, it will see players join either of two factions before challenging them to collect resources, build up and defend their base, amass an army of military units, and set out to crush your opponents.

The Steam version had 25 offline campaign missions, 12 two-player cooperative missions, an AI skirmish mode and player-vs-player multiplayer modes that run on dedicated game servers – with 12 maps that support up to eight players online.

Destructible environments, leaderboards, replays, and observer support round out what looks like a promising addition to the Nintendo Switch library, but we will have to see what will be included on Nintendo Switch.

8-Bit Armies will see release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
