The Pokémon Company has banned 7,651 players from participating in any online activity in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, after security measures have detected that they have altered their save data.

Serebii reports that the ban will prevent them from using Game Sync, entering in Rating Battles and Battle Competitions, and participating in Global Missions.

Those that have been banned will be met with the error code 090-0212 when they try to access such services, and The Pokémon Company adds that they will continue to pursue those that have edited or illegal save data to enforce similar restrictions without notice.

This is not the first time that players have received bans in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, as, back in January, 5,954 players were banned from participating in Battle Spot.
