Lightning Games and RocketPunch Games have announced that HARDCORE MECHA will release on Nintendo Switch this week.

In this 2D platformer, you will have the chance to choose your mecha before setting out on what is promised to be “a thrilling action-packed adventure filled with shooting, flying and exquisite animations.”

You play as Hardcore Defense Corp ACE pilot Tarethur O’Connell in the game’s Campaign Mode, now working as a mercenary who becomes drawn into a conspiracy rebellion while on a mission.

There are eight chapters and 18 stages to conquer, in which Tarethur will rethink what he is really fighting for after being faced with continuous battles and overwhelming conflicts.

There is also a Survival Mode in which you must fight to survive against more than 50 types of enemy mechas. And then there’s a Multiplay mode, where you can compete in “high-speed hardcore competitive PVP battles” online, in local split-screen for up to four players or over Local Wireless.

“HARDCORE MECHA is a gorgeously stylized 2D mecha experience that fans will love, with a huge variety of mechs and killer combos to unleash during the deep campaign or while battling against friends,” explains RocketPunch Games producer Louiky Mu.

“And after it’s success on Steam and PlayStation 4, we’re happy players can now experience the fast-paced combat of HARDCORE MECHA on the go with the Nintendo Switch.”

HARDCORE MECHA will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 15th October 2020.
