GOATi Entertainment has announced that its “real-time physics-based racing playground” 22 Racing Series is coming to Nintendo Switch.

Set in the 22nd century, climate change has ravaged the environment which has resulted in resource-intensive racing series being moved online to limit their ecological impact and increase their accessibility.

The tracks that you will speed around are based in the environments that have been most affected by climate change, which include Florida, Bangladesh, Solomon Islands and Antarctica. You will be able to speed your way through clocked Time Trials, diverse Circuit Racing, difficult Elimination Rounds, scored Point-to-Point Racing, and the capture the flag-inspired Sector Capture.

There is also the chance to compete in the Race royale mode, where 100 players race to achieve an impressive rank to avoid elimination. And the Streaker mode, where you will have to drive quickly enough to catch another racer.

“We are extremely excited to aid the racing community in bringing their video game dreams to life,” explains GOATi Entertainment managing and creative director Garth Midgley. “Combining future physics racing and real-time strategy racing has been a huge step in our development process to create a next generation of racing experience.”

22 Racing Series will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch sometime “in 2023 and beyond.”
