The Pokémon Company International has announced when and where two major competitive Pokémon tournaments will take place this year.
The North America International Championships will take place between Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd June in Columbus, OH, whereas the Pokémon World Championships will be held on Friday 16th – Sunday 18th August in Washington, DC.
It will be the Greater Columbus Convention Center that hosts the North America International Championships. Open to players worldwide with no residency restrictions, Pokémon TCG and video game competitors will have one last chance to score the Championship Points that they need to secure an invitation to the 2019 Pokémon World Championships.
Those that have earned enough Championship Points will then descend on the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to compete at the 2019 Pokémon World Championships. The winners will be awarded the World Champion title, and secure their share of the more than $500k prize pool.
