Niantic has announced that a Water Festival event is now making waves in Pokémon GO worldwide, increasing the chance that players will encounter Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile and their Evolutions.
The event will run until 1 pm PDT on Wednesday 29th March 2017, and will similarly increase the odds that you will encounter several Water-type Pokémon that were first discovered in the Johto region, and, perhaps if you are lucky, Lapras.
It is another welcome chance to fill your Pokédex and comes after Party Hat Pikachu was made available to celebrate Pokémon Day in late February.
The developer has also added a free Magikarp Hat, that you can find in your wardrobe – accessed in the Style menu on the avatar tab.
