Pokémon GO will soon embrace the holiday spirit, with Niantic announcing holiday events that will round out the incredible year that the location-based game has had.

“As the year draws to a close, we want to give you a great way to celebrate the end of the year with Pokémon GO,” the developer shared in an update. “For the next couple of weeks, you’ll have even more reason to explore the world with your friends and family while you enjoy our year-end event.”

From Sunday 25th December – Tuesday 3rd January 2017, there will be an increased chance to hatch Togepi and other Pokémon from Eggs, with the first PokéStop that you visit each day to reward you with one single-use Incubator.

There will also be a greater chance of finding Eggs that hatch Togepi, Pichu, and other Johto region Pokémon at PokéStops, and the Holiday Pikachu will also continue to appear on your travels.

Then, between Friday 30th December 2016 – Sunday 8th January 2017, there will be a greater chance to encounter Kanto region starter Pokémon and their evolutions – Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise.

Niantic will look to help increase your chances of spotting them, with Lure Modules to last for 60 minutes rather than 30 minutes as normal.
