GameStop Won’t Be Taking NES Classic Edition Pre-Orders

Many were excited when the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition was announced, but those in North America have been left frustrated that there has been a minimal chance to pre-order the miniaturised replica.

Amazon, Best Buy, and Target all list the plug-and-play device, but pre-orders remain unavailable with less than a month to go.

Now, GameStop has clarified that the retailer “will not be taking pre-orders on the NES Classic [Edition].” Instead, consumers will be able to purchase it in-store at launch on November 11th.

The 30 pre-installed games that will be playable on the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition are:

  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Double Dragon II: The Revenge
  • Dr. Mario
  • Excitebike
  • Final Fantasy

  • Ghosts‘N Goblins
  • Gradius
  • Ice Climber
  • Kid Icarus
  • Kirby’s Adventure
  • Mario Bros.
  • Mega Man 2
  • Metroid
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Pac-Man
  • Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
  • StarTropics
  • Super C
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Super Mario Bros. 3
  • Tecmo Bowl
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

The mini replica of Nintendo’s original home console will come with an HDMI cable, an AC adapter isn’t included, and one NES Classic Controller.

The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition will launch across Australia and New Zealand on November 10th, as well as in North America and Europe on November 11th.
