Pokémon GO Server Issues Hamper Successful Launch

Pokémon GO has now launched for iOS and Android devices in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, but, while it has been met with resounding success, server issues are repeatedly hampering the experience.

While worldwide excitement saw the free-to-play augmented reality app downloaded an “incredible number” of times, the immediate result was that, under such strain, players had difficulties even signing-up. That problem has now been resolved, only to be replaced by wider server issues that are preventing players from starting their Pokémon adventure in the real world.

The Pokémon Company is working hard to resolve these and has also promised that they will continue to roll the app to out to more countries.

“Thank you for your patience. We have been working to fix the server issues,” they assured today. “We will continue rolling out Pokémon GO to new countries soon.”

Pokémon GO is now available in the United States, Australia and New Zealand, and will be coming soon to Canada, Europe and South America.
