SNES Virtual Console Comes Exclusively To New Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo has announced that Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) games will see release exclusively to the Virtual Console on New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL.

In North America, Super Mario World, F-Zero and Pilotwings are now available, echoing the console’s launch lineup.

Whereas in Europe you can now buy Super Mario World and EarthBound, with the region treated to a promotion that, if you buy one, you can get the other half price offer during their first week on sale.

The release schedule for each region has been outlined as:

North America
24th March – Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart and EarthBound
14th April – The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest

Europe
Week A – 3rd March: Super Mario World and EarthBound
Week B – 10th March: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid
Week X – 17th March: F-Zero and Super Mario Kart
Week Y – 24th March: Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest

These versions have Perfect Pixel Mode, which let players display the games in their original resolution, while it is confirmed that they will be the full-speed 60Hz North American releases in Europe.
