Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo eShop, Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop will be taken offline for 24 hours this coming Monday.
The company publicly apologised for the inconvenience in advance, which will see their digital stores become unavailable for such lengthy period from 3am GMT on Monday 2nd November.
That will provide plenty of time for some background tinkering, which may be related to their adoption of the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC). The global rating and age classification system can be used for digitally delivered games and applications, and will help developers publish their projects across multiple regions at once rather than having to do so individually.
