Today’s Super Smash Bros. for Wii U update has added the ability to share saved replays to either YouTube and a Replay Viewing Community on Miiverse.
Battles can be saved as replays by pressing the Y Button on the results screen, and sharing them will allow you to now prevent previous issues where replays saved in-game couldn’t be watched after certain software updates.
To upload a replay to YouTube, players are required to have a Google Account with a YouTube channel. If you head to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s Replays menu, select which you would like to upload and then hit “Send.” It’s important to bear in mind that replays longer than three minutes cannot be uploaded to YouTube.
From this point, the process is easy. You will be asked to Sign in to your Google Account through the Internet Browser, whereas those without an account will have the chance to create a new one and a YouTube channel (you must be aged 13 or older to create a Google Account).
Once logged in, you will have the chance to title the replay video before uploading it to YouTube. When complete, you can either view it on YouTube or return to brawl in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
You can also choose to post your YouTube video to Miiverse, writing a comment as per usual to post alongside it. This option can be selected when initially selecting ‘Send,’ by choosing the ‘Post to YouTube and Miiverse’ option.
Um, I’m trying to hit Send, and it says You Cannot Send this Data. What’s up with that??
Hi Brandon, Sorry to hear that! Is it generating an error code?
Sigh. 3 min only. Better than nothing I guess. Though these days most people who are serious about showing off their matches tend to get recording equipment anyway.
My screen just goes black after it replays the replay.wtf
So not for the 3DS?
