Nintendo of America have announced a surprise partnership with Humble to raise money for non-profit computer science advocate, Code.org.

The Humble Nindie Bundle is the first promotion to feature console games, previously having only offered PC, Mac, Linux and Android releases. This sees Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition on Wii U, and Woah Dave! and Mighty Switch Force! on Nintendo 3DS available to contributors, regardless of how much they choose to donate.

Those that pay over the average, which currently sits at $9.20, can claim The Fall on Wii U, OlliOlli on Wii U and 3DS, and Moon Chronicles: Episode 1 on 3DS, with more games to be announced. Whereas those that pay $10 or more will receive Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones on Wii U, and SteamWorld Dig on Wii U and 3DS.

All of these games “ordinarily stack up to $88” although, with Nintendo’s imposed region-lock, the promotion is only available to those in North, Central and South America (excluding Brazil).

However Damon Baker, Nintendo of America’s senior manager of licensing, was keen to reiterate that they had been trying to make the offer available worldwide, writing on Twitter: “Tried for months to make it global but we’ll get there eventually!”
