Splatoon producer nervously dodges Animal Crossing Wii U question

We may soon be hearing about Animal Crossing on Wii U, if comments by Nintendo’s Hisashi Nogami are any indication.

He had been speaking to Engadget about Splatoon, having worked as producer on the Wii U exclusive. When the telephone interview closed with a question about when we’d see Animal Crossing on Wii U, Nogami initially seemed uncertain how to respond.

“Well, that’s difficult for me to answer at the moment! Yup. That’s pretty much all we can say,” he replied. “What I will say is that you may have seen an announcement recently about an Animal Crossing product coming out on the 3DS… I can tack that on to the end of my response.”

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer was announced in April’s Nintendo Direct, where players will furnish and decorate homes to cater to each animal’s taste. It will be the Nintendo’s first game to support amiibo cards, with a Nintendo 3DS NFC reader/writer accessory scheduled to launch alongside the Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

  1. I hope there will be a Animal Crossing for Wii U or Animal Forest 64 and Animal Crossing: Wild World will appear on the Wii U VC at the same time.
