Precursor Games signal that there’s still hope for Shadow of the Eternals

I was rather disheartened when Precursor Games failed to achieve their Kickstarter goal for Shadow of the Eternals, seeing the studio place the project “on hold” as they revised their options.

We haven’t heard anything since then, although social manager Phil Haymes has now broken the silence to restate their intent to “keep the project alive” and see it eventually come to fruition.

“We’ll be continuing to upgrade and keep the forums running and we’re taking a look at where the SOTE project is at, potential options and directions for the future as well as going over lessons learned from the campaigns,” Haymes wrote on the studio’s forum.

“We very much intend to keep the project alive and get back to production but please understand that there probably won’t be any major news or update for a while yet. We’ve got a lot of work ahead to understand the options available to us going forward and to do the best thing by the game.”

He later continued, “We believe we have a powerful story to tell, we believe that the game deserves to be played by you all and whilst it may take some time to get all our ducks lined-up, know that we’re still here and SOTE and rumors of SOTE’s death are greatly exaggerated.”
