Notch debunks Minecraft Wii U rumours

Mojang founder Markus “Notch” Persson has moved to debunk rumours that emerged regarding Minecraft currently being in development for Wii U.

He shared that he was “not aware of any plans” to bring it to Nintendo’s home console, meaning that the claims supposedly made by the retail source appear to be completely unfounded.

Hope isn’t completely lost though, with Persson explaining that the only reason that it isn’t currently on the cards is because they’re too busy.

“I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft,” Persoon clarified through social media site, Twitter.

“I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo."
